Dr. Brian Finnigan

Currently serving as the Director of Saraland Alternative Learning Center.

22 years of experience in the research and chemical industry prior to entering the field of Education. 

Has served as an Assistant Principal at Saraland High School for seven years.

Dr. Finnigan has taught AP Chemistry, Pre-AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and Physical Science for three years at Saraland High School.

Teaching career began at Murphy High School (2001).  Classes taught were Biology, Zoology, Physical Science, and Chemistry for nine years.

 

Dr. Finnigan has worked in the following positions: 

Biochemistry researcher for the Prototech Company (Newton Highlands, Massachusetts under Dr. Walter Juda).  

Chemical-Area Production Manager for Courtaulds Fibers (Axis, Alabama).

Organic Chemistry researcher at the University of South Alabama with Dr. David Forbes

    Co-authored a college lab manual: Microscale Organic Laboratory.

    Research with Bone/Breast Cancer Inhibitors resulted in publication.

Science Teacher (Murphy HS, Saraland HS).

 

Dr. Finnigan has volunteered with the Epilepsy Foundation of Alabama, including serving as a Board President.  Also, Dr. Finnigan has volunteered at Camp ASCCA (Alabama Special Camp for Children and Adults) at Jackson’s Gap, AL.
