6th - 8th Grade Syllabus
This is a Visual Arts class, students will complete individual works of art based on principles and elements of art learned in class. Students will be introduced to art history through the ages and incorporate this knowledge into class projects.
Grading: Grading will be drawn from 2 main categories: Weekly in class assignments and 'Drawings of the Day' that are completed through the week. There will also be DOD grades (Drawings of the day) entered weekly.
Grading on Assignments: These grades will be graded on the rubrics discussed before the project. Depending on the subject or lesson we are working on, there will be clear guidelines on the projects details.
Drawing of the Day Assignments: Each week there will be a series of bellringer/homework assignments that students are to complete before Friday's class. I will grade them on Fridays. These drawings are bellringers/homework assignments that shouldn't take long to complete, but yet still gives the student opportunities to continue to gain better drawing skills.
Failure to bring their sketchbooks to class is a result of non participation and this may reflect in the students participation grade.
