What did you get out of this class?
"I'm thankful for Mrs. Crane's class, Business Technology Applications, as it has prepared me for much more success than I could have imagined. Until you are out in the independent world, professionalism and career preparation are only a myth. With Mrs. Crane's class, I was as prepared as I could be for any job opportunity I was faced with. From resumes, to interview mindset, I had a cornerstone to begin with and have carried those to this day. As a current career consultant and former lead pilot recruiter, I highly value the skills that were gained in BTA. From hiring pilots at a major airline to mentoring future pilots, every day I used the experience I gained while taking this course. It is so important that in a professional career setting you take seriously the fundamentals of resumes, interviews, and basic preparation." - Hunter Faircloth Class of 2014
"Being in Mrs. Crane’s class(es) enable me to develop practical skills that are necessary in order to succeed in life: resume building, Microsoft certifications, oral presentation, leadership, etc. are just a few of the skills that allowed me to do well in college. Although those skills are still applicable as a medical student, developing the courage to ask for help and seeking mentorship is what has served to be most beneficial in my life. Whether it’s having upperclassmen integrated into the same classes, participating in organizations like FBLA, or asking Mrs. Crane for help directly-- taking those initial steps to ask and then learn from someone else, even a peer, isn’t something you always get the opportunity to develop in mandatory high school courses. Everything I have ever been able to achieve in and outside of a classroom has never been on my own accord; it’s a result of trying my best, of course, but knowing when it’s time to ask for help whenever I reach a hurdle or speed bump. I’ll forever be thankful for the foundation of hard work, then looking toward a teammate or mentor when I don’t know what the next step should look like. - Landon McNellage Class of 2018
