    Head Coach - Donna Sunnycalb

    Coach Sunnycalb begins her 23nd season coaching, her eleventh season as a Spartan. Her previous schools include Greenville High School, Ragland High School, and Tarrant Middle School.  She ended her playing career in 1999 at the University of West Alabama, where she played four years for Coach Janet Montgomery. She was a member of the 1997 Gulf South Conference Championship team. While at UWA, she received All-Conference and All-American Academic Honors. After completing her Bachelor’s degree from UWA, she pursued her Master’s degree in Physical Education from Jacksonville State University.  While at Ragland High School, she helped lead her team to 3 consecutive area and State championships. In 2004, her team won the school’s first ever State Championship for softball. That same year, she was named the Anniston Star and St. Clair News-Aegis Coach of the Year.  After her stint at Ragland, she returned home to her Alma Mater, Greenville High School. During her eight seasons at Greenville, she helped the Tigers’ win 2 Area Championships and made 3 Regional Appearances.  In TEN seasons as a Saraland Spartan, Coach Sunnycalb has guided the Lady Spartans to 9 Area Championships, 9 Regionals Qualifier’s, and 6 State Tournament appearances. In 2017, Coach Sunnycalb was chosen by her peers to coach the South All-Star team in Montgomery. In 2018, the Spartans set a school record with 45 wins in a season and earned the 6A State Champion Runner-Up. In 2018, she was chosen as the Coastal Alabama Coach of the Year.

    Assistant Coach - Chelsea Randle

    Coach Randle is originally from Alexandria, Alabama. She played softball for four years at Belhaven University and earned her degree in English with a minor in sports administration. Coach Randle comes to us after teaching and coaching at Prattville High School for three years. This is her SIXTH year at Saraland High School and she has been teaching English and coaching at the high school level for TEN years.

    Assistant Coach - Kaylyn Ingram

    Coach Ingram is originally from Alabaster, Alabama. She played softball for two years at Faulkner State where she was the starting pitcher. After Faulkner State, Coach Ingram had offers to continue to play, but wanted to attend The University of Alabama to finish her degree. While at Alabama, Coach Ingram helped with the softball team for a season and was able to shadow the pitching coach in order to further her knowledge. Coach Ingram graduated from Alabama in August 2018 with a degree in history and minor in educational studies.

    Assistant Coach - Victoria Howard

    Victoria Howard is a 2018 graduate of Washington County High School where she played softball and basketball for the Bulldogs. After graduation, she attended Coastal Alabama Community College where she received her associates degree in science. From there she continued her education at the University of South Alabama on a softball manager scholarship while earning her bachelor's degree in exercise science. This is Coach Howard's first year coaching at Saraland.
