• Course:  U.S. History One Beginning- 1877

    Grade: 11

    Teacher: Coach Mosley

     

    Course Goal:  

    - The student will be able to comprehend the history of the United States from the Industrial Revolution to the present

     Materials Required: 

                - Textbook

                - Notebook (Preferably something with pockets)

                - Pen or Pencil

     Spiral Notebook and Folder

                The notebook will be divided into 2 sections: Bell Work and Notes. Students should keep their notebook neat and organized.

    Assignment Information:

                - Test formats will rotate throughout the year and will include multiple choice, True/False, Fill in the blank, Matching, and Essay

     Attendance Information:

                - Students are expected to follow the attendance policy set by the school.  .  

                - Students who are absent are responsible for getting the assignments that they missed and completing them within two days. 

     Assessment and Grading Procedures:

                - Students will be tested on two to three chapters at a time. 

                -Bellwork will count as a test grade and will be graded periodically throughout the semester.

                - Notebook checks will count as a test grade as well. I will be checking to see the notes you take in class

                - Grading Scale:

                            A= 100 – 90, B= 89 – 80, C= 79 – 70, D= 69 – 60, E= 59 – 0 

                  -Tests will count for 60% of the student’s total grade

                -Daily/Class work will count for 40% of the Students total grade.

                 -Students will also have several opportunities throughout the year to earn bonus points. 

    Classroom Rules

                1. Enter the classroom quietly.

                2. Raise your hand for permission to speak or get up, unless it is an emergency.

                3. Bring all required materials to class.

                4. Respect everyone in the classroom.

                5. Do not leave class until I dismiss you.

    Consequences:

                - First offense:  Verbal warning

                - Second offense:  Writing Assignment

                - Third offense:  Student/Teacher Conference

                - Fourth offense:  Teacher/Student/Parent Conference

                - Fifth offense:  Student will be sent to detention

                - Sixth offense:  Student will be sent to the office

    Daily Procedure:

                - Enter the classroom, go directly to your seat, and begin the work posted on the board.
